Why you should use video in your marketing
Video marketing is becoming increasingly popular. A few years ago it was “nice to have”. It has now become a “need to have”. For a couple of reasons …
- People want to consume video content. Video is the most requested type of content that people want to see from companies that support them.
- It works out. With videos on landing pages, conversion rates can be increased by 80%.
- Mentioning videos in your email subject line can increase your open rate by 19%.
In addition, videos can be reused from content that has already been created. That means saving time and effort while reaching a wider audience at the same time.

Assess whether it is right for you by thinking about the channels you are now talking to your audience through. Where does video fit?

Before embarking on a new marketing channel, analyze what you ultimately want to achieve with video marketing.
Do you want to build a relationship with your audience through video? Are you driving them to perform a specific action? Or do you want to evoke a certain feeling?
Knowing what your goal is, can help you come up with topic ideas and figure out the best way to make your first video.
Which channels should you promote for videos?
Whether you want to create videos for YouTube, your website, social media channels, blog posts, or anywhere else, don’t overwhelm yourself with too many channels at first.
Start where you already are. You don’t have to create a video for every single channel. But start where you are, learn as you go, and test different channels over time.
What’s the first step in creating amazing video content?
Jay says the first step is don’t panic. Much of what you already have in your daily life can be used to create videos.
All you need is a smartphone to record – they have a great starter microphone and cameras.
