Listed here are the finalists for the fifth annual Shorty Social Good Awards

The fifth annual Shorty Social Good Awards will be presented in a virtual ceremony on Thursday, November 19th at 5pm. ET and the finalists were announced on Wednesday.

The five most popular categories that brands have campaigned for according to Shorty Awards were:

  • Environment and sustainability (second year in a row as top category)
  • Public health (new to top 5, likely due to pandemic)
  • LTBTQ + (also new in the top 5)
  • Non-profit (second year in the top 5)
  • Video series (new in the top 5)

Five new categories have been added this year: Healthcare and Pharma and Fitness and Wellness under Industry; TikTok under platform; and community or employee engagement and podcast under Content & Strategy.

The Shorty Awards found that the Community or Employee Engagement, and Healthcare and Pharma categories stand out among the new categories for traction.

Gregory Galant, Co-Founder of Shorty Awards and CEO of Muck Rack, said in a statement, "It is more important than ever to have important conversations about the social brands that brands can create." The Shorty Social Good Awards are an opportunity to take a look at the significant work brands have produced in this unprecedented past year and how they have used their platforms to highlight issues and causes. Although this show is currently physically distant, it will manage to bring together many industry leaders. "
